PLA Filament Spectrum TIFSCF142 1.75 mm Midnight Black 1 kg spool
Spectrum PLA filament TIFSCF142 1.75 mm Midnight Black is a 1 kg spool of standard polylactic acid (PLA) designed for desktop FDM 3D printers. The filament has a nominal diameter of 1.75 mm and prints at typical PLA temperatures, offering dimensional stability and low warp for general-purpose additive manufacturing. This Midnight Black PLA is suitable for prototypes, household parts, scale models and educational projects where a rigid, easy-to-print thermoplastic is required.
This PLA filament provides consistent diameter and smooth extrusion for stable layer adhesion and predictable print results with common print settings. Its recommended working temperature range supports reliable flow and reduces clogging on most consumer extruders. The material offers good surface finish and ease of post-processing such as sanding and painting. As a PLA grade, it presents low warping and minimal shrinkage compared with higher-temperature engineering plastics, making it suitable for dimensionally accurate parts and multi-piece assemblies.
Load the 1.75 mm PLA filament into a compatible FDM desktop printer, set the nozzle temperature within the recommended 190–220 °C range and configure standard PLA print settings such as 0.1–0.3 mm layer height and moderate print speeds. Use a heated bed if available (typical bed temperature for PLA is 20–60 °C) or apply adhesion aids such as glue stick or blue tape for improved first-layer bonding. Allow printed parts to cool gradually to avoid deformation and check extrusion flow before starting large prints.
Store the spool in a dry environment or sealed bag with desiccant to maintain filament quality. For best results, calibrate extrusion multiplier and ensure the nozzle is clean before printing. When sanding or painting, use appropriate safety measures for dust and fumes.
