SSQ stereo jack 3.5 mm connector / SSQ MiG3 - 3.5mm stereo jack socket

SSQ MiG3 is a 3.5 mm stereo jack socket engineered for reliable audio connections between headphones, speakers and portable audio devices. The socket accepts standard 3.5 mm TRS stereo plugs, providing distinct left and right channel contacts and a grounded sleeve connection. Designed for wiring and panel mounting, this jack is suitable for use inside audio equipment, in repair work or when building custom cable assemblies and panels.

Advantages

The SSQ MiG3 offers compact dimensions for space-efficient installation and a standardized contact layout that ensures compatibility with most consumer audio plugs. Its construction supports straightforward soldering or wiring, enabling permanent or serviceable connections. The socket's metal contacts deliver stable signal transfer and a clear stereo separation when paired with compatible plugs and cables.

Suitable for

• Repair and replacement of headphone or speaker input jacks
• Panel mounting in DIY audio projects and custom enclosures
• Creating custom cables and breakout assemblies for portable devices
• Integration into small audio devices, amplifiers or mixers

Key specifications

• Connector type: 3.5 mm TRS (stereo) jack socket
• Contact arrangement: Left (tip), Right (ring), Ground (sleeve)
• Mounting style: Wiring and panel mount compatible
• Application: Audio signal transmission for headphones, speakers and portable devices

How to use

Install the SSQ MiG3 into a prepared panel cutout or secure it on a PCB or chassis according to the device layout. Connect the tip, ring and sleeve contacts to the corresponding conductors of your cable using soldering or suitable terminal connections, ensuring correct left/right channel assignment and a reliable ground. After wiring, test the connection with a known-good 3.5 mm stereo plug and audio source to verify channel balance and absence of noise or intermittent contact.

Usage recommendations

For best results, use soldered joints or high-quality crimp connections and avoid excessive mechanical strain on the cable near the jack to prolong contact life. When installing in panels, confirm the cutout dimensions and mounting orientation before final assembly to ensure a secure fit and proper alignment with external plugs.
