Pliers STANLEY FATMAX VDE Waterpump Plier 255 mm — insulated 1000V rated
STANLEY FATMAX VDE Waterpump Plier 255 mm is an insulated waterpump-style plier designed for electrical and maintenance tasks where safe live-line work up to 1000 V is required. With a 255 mm overall length and VDE-rated insulation, this plier is intended for gripping, turning and holding pipes, fittings and fasteners while providing protection for the operator during work on or near live circuits. Constructed from heat-treated high chrome steel with a hardened cutting and gripping profile, it combines durability with precise handling for professional use.
The tool features a bi-material handle with secure grip grooving that improves control during use and reduces slippage. The forging is heat treated and made from high chrome steel for extended service life, while the hand-ground, induction-hardened jaw surfaces ensure long-lasting accuracy and wear resistance. The interlocking joint assembly promotes smooth operation and reliable alignment. The plier is compliant with EN 60900 and IEC/CEI 900 VDE 0692 standards, individually tested to 10 000 V and rated for safe live-line work up to 1000 V.
Select an appropriate jaw opening by adjusting the plier on the workpiece and ensure the bi-material handles are free of oil and debris before use. Position the jaws securely around the pipe, fitting or fastener and apply steady force while maintaining a firm grip; avoid sudden impacts. Use the interlocking joint to maintain alignment and control when turning or pulling. When working on live circuits, always verify voltage and follow safe working distances and procedures; the insulated handles are rated for 1000 V but do not replace other necessary personal protective equipment.
Inspect the pliers before each use for damage to insulation, handles or jaws. Do not use the pliers if the insulation is nicked, cut or compromised. Clean and store the tool in a dry place to prevent corrosion and maintain electrical insulation performance. For safe live-line operations, combine the insulated pliers with appropriate PPE, lockout/tagout procedures and voltage verification tools.
