Snap Off Blades Stanley FATMAX 18mm STHT8-11818
Stanley FATMAX 18mm CARBIDE Snap Off Blades (STHT8-11818) are professional-grade snap-off utility blades engineered for precision cutting and extended edge life. Each 18mm-wide blade features a carbide-enhanced cutting edge bonded to a flexible steel body, allowing repeated snap-off segments to expose a fresh, sharp edge while maintaining blade durability for demanding construction and installation tasks.
The laser-deposited tungsten carbide edge is engineered to last up to ten times longer than conventional blades, while diamond-wheel grinding produces a precise, sharp cutting profile. The combination of a hardened carbide edge and a resilient steel body helps maintain first-cut sharpness, reduce blade snaps, and minimize the frequency of blade changes, saving time and cost on the jobsite. These characteristics make the blades suitable for cutting tougher materials where standard blades wear quickly.
Install the 18mm snap-off blade into a compatible utility knife according to the knife manufacturer's instructions. Use the blade for controlled cutting motions appropriate to the material being worked on. When the cutting edge becomes dull or damaged, score and safely snap off the used segment along the designated break line to expose a new segment. Dispose of snapped segments in a suitable sharps container or follow local regulations for blade disposal.
For best results, use the Stanley FATMAX 18mm CARBIDE blades on materials that cause rapid wear to standard blades; maintain a steady cutting angle and replace segments before excessive chipping occurs to preserve edge life and user safety.
