The StarTech.com USB to Null Modem Serial Adapter Cable (2 m) adds an RS-232 DB9 (female) serial port to a laptop or desktop through an available USB Type-A port. Equipped with an FTDI chipset, the adapter provides null modem (DCE-to-DCE) support so you can resolve DCE/DTE conflicts without additional cross-wired cables or adapters. The 2-meter cable includes removable slotted D-Sub thumbscrews and a set of DB-9 nuts for secure attachment to serial devices and compatibility with a variety of peripheral cables.

Advantages

This USB to RS-232 adapter offers LED indicators for transmit, receive and USB status to aid with real-time monitoring and troubleshooting. It supports automatic driver installation on Windows 7 and newer, macOS 10.15+ and many Linux distributions, and provides COM port retention to preserve the assigned COM value after reconnection or reboot. The cable is built with rugged TPE housing, gold-plated connectors and copper shielding for improved signal conductivity and reduced EMI/RFI.
