The StarTech.com IMC1GSFP60W is an industrial PoE fiber-to-Ethernet media converter that converts a fiber network link to a PoE-enabled copper RJ45 connection. Supporting Gigabit speeds (1000 Mbit/s) and an open MSA-compliant SFP slot, it lets you extend data and power over fiber while choosing the SFP module that matches your singlemode or multimode fiber and distance needs. The compact, DIN-rail mountable enclosure and wide operating temperature range make it suitable for harsh environments where reliable PoE delivery is required.
The unit provides up to 60 W of PoE power to a single connected PD over a 1 Gbps RJ45 port, supports an open SFP slot for flexible fiber choices, and accepts dual power input options (terminal block or coaxial barrel with adapter). Its industrial design supports operation from -40°C to 75°C and includes DIN-rail mounting for versatile installation in factories, warehouses, or outdoor enclosures.
Install the IMC1GSFP60W on a DIN rail or in a suitable enclosure and insert an appropriate MSA-compliant SFP module for your fiber type and distance. Connect the fibre cable to the SFP, and connect your PoE device to the RJ45 port using standard Ethernet cabling (up to 100 m). Provide power via the terminal block or the coaxial barrel connector with the included adapter, or use a compatible external power supply that meets the device voltage/current requirements (power supply not included). Verify link and PoE status LEDs to confirm normal operation.
Use MSA-compliant Gigabit SFP modules matched to your fiber type and distance. Ensure the external power supply can deliver sufficient current for the PoE budget required by the connected PDs. Mount the converter where ambient temperatures stay within the specified operating range and protect fiber and power connections from moisture and mechanical stress.
