The StarTech.com Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable (model MDP2DPMM2MW) is a 2 m white cable with a Mini DisplayPort (mDP) male connector on one end and a DisplayPort (DP) male connector on the other. It enables a direct digital video connection between Mini DisplayPort–equipped laptops (including many Mac systems) and monitors, HDTVs or projectors that use a standard DisplayPort interface.

How to use

Connect the mini DisplayPort (mDP) end of the cable to the Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt port on your laptop and insert the DisplayPort end into the DP input of your monitor, HDTV or projector. Power on the display and the laptop; the operating system should automatically detect the external display. If required, adjust display resolution and refresh rate in your system display settings to 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. For MST daisy chaining, ensure the connected monitors and graphics output support MST and configure the display arrangement in your OS.

Usage recommendations

Use the cable for direct digital video connections; if your computer has only Thunderbolt ports, this cable is compatible when the Thunderbolt port supports Mini DisplayPort signalling.
