Network Card StarTech.com 4-Port GbE SFP PCIe 2.0 x2 Intel I350-AM4 1000BASE
The StarTech.com 4-Port GbE SFP PCIe 2.0 x2 network card (Intel I350-AM4) adds up to four 1GbE SFP ports to a workstation or server via a PCI Express 2.0 x2 (or higher) expansion slot, supporting both fiber and copper 1000BASE connections for flexible wired network connectivity.
This PCIe network controller uses the Intel I350 chipset to deliver reliable, low-latency performance with reduced CPU utilization. It supports virtualization and efficiency features such as VMDq, SR-IOV and Intel® VT-c, and is compatible with PXE boot and 9K jumbo frames for improved deployment and data-transfer efficiency. VLAN tagging is supported for network segmentation and management. The card accepts MSA-compliant and branded 1Gb SFP modules as well as direct-attach copper cables (DAC).
Insert the network card into an available PCIe 2.0 x2 (or higher) slot on the workstation or server motherboard. Install suitable 1Gb SFP modules or direct-attach copper cables into the SFP ports according to desired media type and distance. Install or update drivers on the host operating system if required, then configure network settings, VLANs or virtualization offloads (VMDq/SR-IOV) in the OS or hypervisor management interface.
Use MSA-compliant SFP transceivers or manufacturer-recommended DACs that match required distance and connector type. For virtualized deployments enable SR-IOV or VMDq in both firmware and host OS to reduce CPU overhead. Ensure the host slot provides at least x2 PCIe lanes and verify driver compatibility with your OS version before deployment.
