The StarTech PEX1000MMSC2 is a PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet multimode SC fiber network card designed to add fiber connectivity to desktops, workstations and servers. The internal PCIe card provides a single multimode SC fiber port that supports Gigabit Ethernet over multimode fiber up to 550 meters (using 50/125 μm duplex cabling) and up to 220 meters with 62.5/125 μm multimode cabling. The card supports standard networking protocols for fiber uplink, and it includes both a standard profile bracket and a low-profile/half-height bracket for installation in full-size and small form-factor systems.
