The StarTech PEX1000SFP2 is an internal PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet fiber network card that provides a PCIe host interface and an open SFP slot for your choice of Gigabit fiber transceivers. Designed for desktops, workstations and servers, the card supports wired fiber connectivity with a maximum aggregate throughput of 2000 Mbit/s, enabling direct connection to fiber optic networks and migration from copper to SFP-based fiber links.

Advantages

This PCIe SFP adapter delivers flexible fiber connectivity through an open SFP port, allowing you to select transceivers appropriate for the fiber type and distance required. Because it uses fiber optics rather than copper, the card is not susceptible to electromagnetic interference that can affect RJ45 networks, which supports stable and secure long-distance links. The dual-profile bracket design includes a full-profile bracket with an included low-profile/half-height bracket for installation in small form-factor systems and 1U rackmount servers.
