Power Splitter Cable StarTech.com PYO2LP4LSATA
The StarTech.com Power Splitter Cable PYO2LP4LSATA converts one LP4 (Molex 4-pin) power connector into two latching SATA (15-pin) power connectors, allowing you to power two SATA drives from a single LP4 power supply connection. The cable is 12 inches (0.304 m) long and is constructed from durable materials to provide reliable internal power distribution without requiring a PSU upgrade.
This LP4 to dual latching SATA power Y cable offers a cost-effective way to add power for two SATA drives using an existing LP4 connector. The latching SATA connectors reduce the risk of accidental disconnection, and the 12-inch length provides sufficient slack to position drives within the computer case. The product is covered by StarTech.com's lifetime warranty.
Power down the computer and disconnect it from the mains. Locate an available LP4 (Molex 4-pin) power connector from the power supply and firmly attach the LP4 male connector of the cable. Route the Y cable to the drive bay and connect each latching SATA power connector to the SATA drives, ensuring the latch engages to secure the connection. Restore power and verify that both drives receive power and are detected by the system.
Use this splitter only for powering SATA drives; avoid overloading the single LP4 circuit by connecting multiple high-power devices. If drives draw high current or you experience instability, consider using a dedicated power supply cable or upgrading the PSU.
