The StarTech.com Slim Lock SNBLC4D is a Noble Wedge®-compatible laptop security cable designed to deter theft of laptops, ultra-slim notebooks and a variety of peripherals. The 5 ft (1.5 m) cut-resistant steel cable combined with a keyless combination lock provides a practical desk-side security solution for laptops, docking stations and other devices equipped with a Noble Wedge® slot.

Advantages

The off-center wedge tip and a 0.55 in (14 mm) diameter lock head with 360° rotation let thin laptops remain flat and reduce stress on the device slot. A pre-installed foam spacer near the tip protects the laptop or peripheral from scuffs. How to use

Insert the wedge tip into the device's Noble Wedge® security slot and route the cable around a secure anchor point such as a desk leg or an anchor plate (anchor sold separately). Set a personal combination code following the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure the foam spacer sits between the lock tip and the device surface to avoid scratching. To release, enter the combination and remove the wedge tip from the slot.

Usage recommendations

For optimal security, attach the cable to an immovable anchor or to a StarTech anchor lock (LTANCHOR or LTANCHORL sold separately). Verify compatibility of the device’s security slot with Noble Wedge® standards; pull-force ratings may be lower for non-standard slots. Store your combination in a secure location and periodically check the cable and lock for wear.
