Product information

Description

The Active Video Converter StarTech.com VID2HDCON2 converts S-Video or composite (RCA) analog signals to HDMI, combining audio and video into a single HDMI output. Compatible with NTSC and PAL systems, the converter supports up to 720p (1280 x 720) output and is housed in a compact plastic enclosure. It accepts composite, S-Video and RCA audio inputs and connects to HDMI displays or monitors for easy integration of legacy devices such as video cameras and DVD players.

Advantages

This analog to HDMI upscaler provides plug-and-play installation with an on-screen display (OSD) menu and physical selector switches for straightforward configuration. It supports both NTSC and PAL formats and upscales to high-definition output up to 720p, reducing the need to replace older equipment. Integrated RCA L/R audio input merges sound with video into one HDMI cable, eliminating the need for separate audio connections. The unit operates on 100–240 V with low power consumption (2.5 W) and comes with a 2-year warranty and lifetime technical support from StarTech.com.

Suitable for

Connecting legacy video cameras and DVD players to HDMI TVs or monitors
Presentations and boardroom displays requiring conversion of composite or S-Video sources
Viewing archived home videos and analog recordings on HD screens
Medical imaging setups where older video equipment must interface with modern displays

How to use

Connect the composite (yellow RCA) or S-Video cable from your source device to the corresponding input on the converter. Attach the RCA L/R audio cables (red and white) to the audio inputs. Plug an HDMI cable from the converter’s HDMI output to your display or monitor. Power the unit using the appropriate power adapter and select the input and output options using the on-screen display (OSD) menu or the device’s selector switches. Ensure the display is set to accept the HDMI input and, if necessary, adjust the output resolution to 720p for optimal compatibility.
