Hot-melt PVC Welding Rod Steinel 073114 — Hart-PVC Kunststoff-Schweißdraht
Hart-PVC Kunststoff-Schweißdraht Steinel 073114 is a rigid PVC welding rod intended for hot-air plastic welding and repair of hard PVC components. Supplied by Steinel for OEM use, this hard-PVC filler material is suitable for joining, sealing and patching rigid PVC sheets, gutters, profiles and certain pipes when a compatible hard PVC welding wire is required. The product is designed to be used with hot-air welders and the appropriate welding nozzles to create strong, weather-resistant joints.
This hard-PVC welding rod provides consistent melt behavior and adheres to rigid PVC substrates when processed at the correct temperature with hot-air equipment. Its formulation delivers good dimensional stability and reduced shrinkage after cooling, which helps form reliable seals and overlap welds. The solid, uniform rod geometry ensures predictable feed and application during manual or automatic welding operations.
Use the welding rod with a compatible hot-air welder and the appropriate nozzle for the weld type (overlap, butt or fillet). Clean and prepare the rigid PVC surfaces by removing dirt, grease and any old filler to ensure a sound bond. Preheat the area evenly, feed the rod into the heated melt zone and allow the material to flow and fuse with the base material. Maintain steady travel speed and temperature settings appropriate for hard PVC to achieve a consistent weld bead. Allow the joint to cool undisturbed before subjecting it to mechanical stress.
Use recommended temperature ranges for hard PVC and test on scrap material before working on final parts. Employ appropriate safety measures including ventilation and heat-resistant gloves when performing hot-air welding.
