Drill bit STHOR 22613 — single-piece metal/wood drill bit (1 pcs)
STHOR 22613 — single-piece metal/wood drill bit supplied as one unit for general-purpose drilling tasks. The bit is made from high-speed HSS steel with a nitride titanium coating and features a stepped (gradual) geometry suitable for drilling through wood, plastics and a range of metals including stainless and cold-rolled steel. The cylindrical shank and self-centering tip are designed to reduce walking on rounded or slippery surfaces and to produce clean holes with minimal burrs.
The stepped design allows multiple hole diameters with a single bit, simplifying bit changes and reducing downtime. A nitride titanium finish improves heat dissipation and extends cutting life when working in harder materials. The bit’s self-centering tip and precisely ground cutting edges keep the drill stable on smooth surfaces and deliver clean, burr-free hole edges. Supplied as a single piece, it is convenient as a replacement or spare in toolkits and on job sites.
Secure the drill bit in a compatible drill chuck ensuring the cylindrical shank is firmly clamped. Select an appropriate speed for the material: lower speeds for stainless and hardened steels, medium speeds for sheet metal and plastics, and higher speeds for softwood. Apply steady, moderate feed pressure and allow the bit to cut without excessive force. Withdraw periodically when drilling deep holes to clear chips and reduce heat buildup. For final finishing, reduce speed and feed to minimize burr formation.
Use cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling stainless or cold-rolled steel to improve chip evacuation and extend bit life. For plastics and thin sheet metal, support the workpiece to prevent deformation and use a backing board to reduce burring. Store the single-piece bit in a dry place and replace it when signs of wear, chipping, or excessive heat discoloration appear.
