Milling cutter STHOR 25405, length 40 mm, pack of 6
STHOR 25405 milling cutter set contains six identical cutters, each with a working length of 40 mm. These small-diameter cutters are made for material removal and shaping tasks and are compatible with tools that accept standard post shanks. The set is intended for use in woodworking, light metalworking, model making and repair jobs where multiple identical cutters are required.
The cutters are manufactured from HSS 4241 high speed steel, providing elevated hardness and wear resistance suitable for cutting tasks in steel and aluminium. A uniform post shank diameter ensures compatibility with mini grinders and rotary tools that accept a 3.2 mm shank, allowing quick replacement and stable operation. Supplied as a pack of six, the set reduces downtime by providing spare cutters for repeated tasks or when individual burrs wear out.
Select a mini grinder or rotary tool that accepts a 3.2 mm post shank, insert the cutter securely into the collet or chuck and tighten according to the tool manufacturer’s instructions. Start at low to moderate speed to establish control, then adjust rotation speed and feed pressure based on the workpiece material—lower speeds for harder steels, higher speeds for softer aluminium and wood. Make multiple light passes rather than attempting heavy cuts in a single pass to maintain cutter life and achieve a controlled finish. Maintain steady support for the workpiece and use appropriate clamping when required.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, gloves and dust mask. Monitor cutter condition and replace when wear or damage is visible. Use lubricant or cutting fluid when machining steel to reduce heat and extend cutter life; for aluminium and wood, clear chips frequently to avoid clogging.
