Sunlu ABS S Silver is a thermoplastic filament for FDM/FFF 3D printing designed for users who need durable, dimensionally stable parts with good impact resistance. Suitable for functional prototypes, enclosures and mechanical components, this silver ABS combines mechanical strength with ease of post-processing so printed parts can be sanded, drilled, tapped or painted to meet project requirements.
The filament delivers high mechanical strength, good abrasion and scratch resistance, and shape retention under pressure and elevated temperatures. It prints into robust parts that withstand everyday use and can be finished easily after printing, which makes it practical for both prototyping and simple functional items.
ABS typically requires a heated bed, stable extrusion temperatures and benefits from an enclosed build chamber to reduce warping. It may not be the best choice for very small hobby printers without enclosure or for prints that must resist continuous exposure above the filament’s heat deflection limits.
Print Sunlu ABS with an appropriate extrusion temperature and a heated bed; typical settings require a hotend temperature above the filament’s melting point and a bed temperature to reduce adhesion issues. Using an enclosed printer helps maintain stable ambient temperature and reduces warping. After printing, parts can be sanded, drilled, tapped or painted; acetone smoothing is also an option for surface finishing when compatible with the project.
For best results use Sunlu ABS in printers with an enclosed build chamber and maintain stable extrusion and bed temperatures. Allow parts to cool gradually to minimise warping and use recommended post-processing methods for final surface quality.
