Sunlu PLA Classic Black filament is a 1.75 mm diameter PLA supplied on a 1 kg spool for FDM/FFF 3D printers. The material is formulated for easy, reliable printing with low warping and good dimensional stability, making it suitable for prototypes, hobby models, decorative parts, and educational projects where consistent black extrusion is required.
Sunlu PLA Classic Black balances printability and mechanical performance. It prints cleanly at a wide nozzle temperature range and supports high print speeds while preserving surface detail. The material offers improved impact resistance compared with standard PLA and a matte finish that gives parts a professional appearance. Controlled filament diameter and careful winding reduce the risk of feeding issues and nozzle clogs.
PLA is not ideal for high-temperature applications or parts exposed to prolonged mechanical stress at elevated temperatures. For outdoor use or applications requiring high heat resistance, alternative materials such as PETG or ABS may be more appropriate.
Load the 1.75 mm filament onto a compatible FDM/FFF printer and set the nozzle temperature within the recommended 190–230 °C range. Use a print speed within the optimal 60–150 mm/s range for best balance of detail and speed; speeds up to 600 mm/s may be achievable on capable printers. Ensure proper bed adhesion using the printer's standard methods for PLA and allow printed parts to cool before removing supports to simplify post-processing.
For reliable results, store the filament in a dry environment or sealed container with desiccant, use moderate print speeds within the optimal range for best surface quality, and allow parts to cool fully before post-processing or functional testing.
