Sunlu PLA+ Silk 3D Printer Filament — Red, PLA+ Silk, MPN PLA+ Silk R
Sunlu PLA+ Silk in red is a PLA+ silk-type filament for FDM/FFF 3D printers designed to produce parts with a glossy, satin-like finish. It is intended for decorative and creative prints where surface appearance matters, offering a silk sheen that reduces the need for post-processing polishing while maintaining good dimensional accuracy and reliable feeding.
The filament provides a smooth, glossy silk finish that enhances visual appeal without additional polishing. It feeds consistently with low risk of jams or nozzle clogs, and its low warping and minimal shrinkage support even, stable prints. Dimensional accuracy and a uniform diameter contribute to repeatable results and compatibility with a wide range of FDM printers.
The filament is not optimized for applications requiring high heat resistance or structural parts exposed to sustained mechanical loads at elevated temperatures, as its Vicat softening and heat deflection temperatures are around 53–54 °C. For parts requiring very high impact resistance or extensive mechanical flexibility, other engineering filaments may be more appropriate.
Load the Sunlu PLA+ Silk filament into an FDM/FFF printer following the printer manufacturer's loading procedure. Typical printing requires a nozzle temperature appropriate for PLA+ (refer to printer or filament guidance) and, in many cases, no heated bed is strictly necessary, though a mildly heated or adhesive bed surface can improve first-layer adhesion. Ensure consistent filament feeding and monitor initial layers to confirm correct extrusion and bed adhesion before running long prints.
For best results with Sunlu PLA+ Silk, use standard PLA+ nozzle temperatures, ensure good first-layer adhesion, and print at moderate speeds to preserve the glossy silk surface. Avoid exposing printed parts to prolonged high temperatures above the filament's heat deflection range.
