3D Printer Filament Sunlu PLA+ Silk (Rainbow) 0.5 kg
Sunlu PLA+ Silk Rainbow (0.5 kg) is a silk-finish PLA+ filament for FDM/FFF 3D printers that produces glossy, pearlescent surfaces with gradual color shifts. The spool yields visually striking prints with a shimmering rainbow effect that changes approximately every 8 meters, making decorative models, prototypes and display pieces stand out without additional post-processing.
The filament combines a silk-like glossy finish with improved layer adhesion compared with standard PLA, delivering consistent surface quality and clear detail reproduction. It is manufactured to be bubble-free and comes on a well-wound spool that reduces the risk of tangles. The material is compatible with most desktop FDM printers and is easy to print with, while the spool design supports drying to maintain filament performance.
This filament is optimized for appearance rather than high-temperature or mechanically demanding functional parts. For applications that require high heat resistance, strong structural performance, or extensive post-processing (e.g., sanding to a smooth matte finish), a specialty engineering filament may be more appropriate. Also, color transitions are intrinsic to the rainbow effect and cannot be controlled precisely for multi-part color matching.
Load the filament into a compatible FDM/FFF 3D printer and set nozzle temperature according to your printer and print speed: recommended nozzle temperature range is 200–215°C for typical speeds, with faster prints sometimes using higher temperatures within the material’s window. Set the heated bed to 50–60°C; apply an adhesive before heating if extra adhesion is required, then it is usually not needed once the bed reaches the target temperature. Print speeds of 40–60 mm/s generally give the best balance of detail and finish. Dry the filament at 50°C before printing if moisture exposure is suspected.
For best results with Sunlu PLA+ Silk (Rainbow), use a nozzle temperature around 200–210°C and a bed temperature of 50–60°C, print at 40–60 mm/s for fine detail, and dry the spool at 50°C if needed. The filament is ideal for decorative and display pieces where a pearlescent, shimmering finish is desired.
