TPM Module Supermicro AOM-TPM-9665V-S for TCG 2.0 compatible E5/E7 systems
Supermicro TPM Module AOM-TPM-9665V-S is a Trusted Platform Module implementing TCG 2.0 designed for Intel E5/E7 server platforms. It provides hardware-based cryptographic services including secure key generation and storage, hardware acceleration for SHA-1 and SHA-256 hashing, a true random number generator (TRNG) and non-volatile storage for firmware enhancements, user data and keys. The module supports platform integrity measurements during boot to establish a root of trust and helps protect systems against software attacks and physical key extraction.
The AOM-TPM-9665V-S adds a hardware root of trust that integrates with BIOS/firmware and operating system features to validate platform integrity. Built-in protections such as dictionary-attack mitigation, tamper-detecting tick counter, over/under-voltage detection and frequency filters increase resilience against physical and logical attacks. On-board EEPROM allows updates to TCG firmware and secure storage of endorsement keys and certificates, while power-saving modes and a 3.3 V supply keep energy usage compatible with server environments.
Install the TPM module into a compatible Supermicro motherboard connector or the specified AOM slot for E5/E7 platforms following the server vendor’s installation procedure. After hardware installation enable TPM support in the server BIOS/UEFI, configure manufacturer-provided firmware updates if needed, and provision endorsement keys and certificates during initial setup. Use operating system or management software that supports TPM 2.0 to manage keys, perform measurements, and integrate with secure boot, disk encryption or remote attestation services.
Keep firmware and platform software up to date and store backup copies of critical provisioning materials in a secure location. Restrict physical access to server hardware, enable BIOS/UEFI protections and follow organizational policies for TPM provisioning and key lifecycle management to maintain platform integrity and compliance with TPM 2.0 requirements.
