Description

Window & Door Alarm Sensor for home security. The SwitchBot Contact Sensor consists of two compact components that attach near each other on doors, windows or other movable objects. It detects contact and separation within a range of up to 16.4 ft (5 m), with a horizontal detection angle of 90° and a vertical angle of 55°. The magnet area should be aligned with the base of the main sensor body for correct operation. Small and easy to install, it can be mounted on doors, windows, refrigerators, pet cages, drawers and similar surfaces to detect openings and closings.

Advantages

The sensor enhances home security by detecting door and window openings and sending timely notifications when connected to a SwitchBot Hub Mini. It can recognize when people enter or leave the home and integrate with other SwitchBot devices to automate actions such as turning on lights or switching off air purifiers when a window opens. The built-in light sensor enables automatic activation of a SwitchBot Bot to turn on lights when motion occurs and ambient light is low. Remote phone alerts and Alexa voice alarms are supported when used with a SwitchBot Hub.

How to use

Align the magnet area with the bottom of the SwitchBot Contact Sensor’s main body and fix both parts close to each other on the surface to be monitored. Pair the sensor with the SwitchBot app; for remote notifications, voice alarms or automation with other devices, connect through a SwitchBot Hub or SwitchBot Hub Mini. Configure alerts and automation rules in the app to receive phone notifications, trigger Alexa voice alarms or activate other SwitchBot devices when the sensor detects opening, closing, entry or exit.
