Insulating tape Tesa 4163-06-07, black, 50 mm x 33 m
Tesa 4163-06-07 insulating tape is a black PVC electrical tape with a width of 50 mm and a roll length of 33 m. It is designed to provide dielectric separation and mechanical protection for electrical conductors, cables and cable bundles. The tape adheres reliably to common insulation materials, is easy to wrap and can be torn by hand for quick on-site application in indoor installation and maintenance tasks.
The tape offers consistent thickness and uniform adhesive performance to ensure stable insulation over time. Its PVC backing provides good resistance to abrasion and moderate mechanical stress, while the adhesive formulation maintains contact with typical cable jackets and insulating materials. The 50 mm width reduces the number of overlapped turns required for covering larger cables or harness sections, and the 33 m roll size balances work continuity with compact storage.
Before applying the tape, ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from oil or dust. Begin wrapping with one to two turns overlapping the starting edge, then continue with a 50% overlap for each subsequent turn to create a consistent multilayer insulation. For repairs, cover the damaged area with sufficient overlap to restore mechanical protection and insulation. Press down each wrap to ensure good adhesive contact; the tape can be torn by hand to shorten or finish the job.
Intended for indoor electrical works and routine maintenance. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, high temperatures or chemicals that can degrade PVC. Do not use as the sole insulating measure for high-voltage applications beyond the tape's rated dielectric capability; follow applicable electrical safety standards and use appropriate protective equipment when working on live circuits.
