Tape TESA 4657 Caoutchouc Grey 50m

tesa® 4657 is a high-grade cloth tape with an acrylic-coated backing and a thermosetting natural rubber (caoutchouc) adhesive. The tape is built on a 145-mesh woven cotton fabric and is available in a grey colour in a 50 m roll with 50 mm width. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications where a strong, heat-resistant cloth tape is required.

Advantages

The tape combines a durable woven cotton backing with a caoutchouc adhesive that offers good initial tack and secure adhesion. It provides a high tensile strength of 105 N/mm² and an elongation at break of 7.5%, and can withstand temperatures up to 180 °C. Options include a low unwinding version (PV1) and a variant supplied on a yellow glassine paper liner 76 µm thick (PV9).

How to use

Cut or tear the required length and apply the tape onto a clean, dry surface. Press down firmly to ensure full contact between the adhesive and the substrate. For die-cutting or converting, use appropriate tooling and consider the PV1 low-unwind version if reduced unwind force is required. When using the PV9 version, remove the yellow glassine liner before application.

Usage recommendations

For optimal adhesion, apply at room temperature on surfaces free of dust, oil and moisture. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight if aesthetic appearance is critical. For high-temperature applications close to the 180 °C limit, test on a sample before full use.
