Self-fusing Repair Tape Tesa H0460004 25 mm × 3 m, black
Self-fusing Repair Tape Tesa H0460004 25 mm × 3 m in black is a self-amalgamating silicone-based tape that forms a continuous, adhesive-free sealing and insulating layer when stretched and wrapped. The tape fuses to itself under tension to create a flexible, watertight and electrically insulating covering suitable for maintenance, field repairs and temporary fixes. Its 25 mm width and 3 m length make it convenient for a range of small to medium repair tasks where a reliable barrier against moisture, corrosion and mechanical wear is required.
The tape creates a seamless, adhesive-free joint by chemically bonding to itself when applied under tension, ensuring long-lasting sealing and electrical insulation. Its silicone-based composition provides resistance to moisture, UV exposure and many weather conditions, while remaining flexible and conformable around irregular shapes. Being non-sticky on the outside and self-fusing on the inside, it is easy to apply and remove without leaving adhesive residue on protected surfaces.
Clean and dry the surfaces to be repaired or insulated. Stretch the tape while wrapping it tightly around the object with slight overlap on each turn so that the tape fuses to the previous layer. Continue wrapping until the desired build-up or coverage is achieved, then release tension so the outer layers settle. For electrical applications ensure sufficient thickness for required insulation and avoid leaving gaps. No primer or adhesive is required.
For durable electrical insulation wrap with multiple overlapping layers to reach the necessary dielectric thickness; for sealing hoses and pipes ensure at least 10–20% overlap per turn and extend the wrapping onto undamaged substrate on both sides of the repair. Store the tape in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve its self-fusing properties.
