Drill bit set Top Tools SDS+ 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 mm (model 5120-05)
Top Tools SDS+ drill bit set 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 mm (model 5120-05) contains five concrete drill bits designed for use with SDS+ hammer drills. The set covers common diameters for drilling into concrete, masonry and natural stone and is intended for making holes for anchors, fastenings and through-fixings. The SDS+ shank provides a secure, quick-fit connection to compatible rotary hammer chucks and simplifies bit changes on the job.
The set offers a practical range of diameters that reduces the need to search for individual bits on site. SDS+ shanks deliver stable torque transfer and reliable seating in hammer drill chucks. Precision-ground flutes and carbide tips improve drilling performance in hard materials while increasing bit life under repeated use. The bits are lightweight to carry and organized as a matched set for easier selection during construction, renovation or DIY tasks.
Select the drill bit diameter appropriate for the anchor or fastener being installed. Insert the SDS+ shank into the hammer drill chuck until it locks; ensure the tool is set to hammer-drill mode for effective percussion drilling into concrete and masonry. Apply steady pressure without forcing the bit; periodically withdraw the bit to clear dust from the hole and allow the drill and bit to cool. For larger diameters, start with a smaller pilot hole if necessary and use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye and hearing protection.
Use the 5 mm and 6 mm bits for light fixtures and small anchors; 8 mm and 10 mm for medium anchors and mounting brackets; 12 mm for larger anchors and through-bolts. Match drill speed and hammer setting to the material hardness, and replace bits when carbide tips show significant wear to maintain hole accuracy and safe operation.
