Router TP-Link Archer MR500 Dual-band Wi-Fi 5
The TP-Link Archer MR500 Dual-band Wi-Fi 5 router provides 4G+ LTE internet access using a Nano SIM card, combined with dual-band Wi‑Fi (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) and Gigabit Ethernet ports. It supports Wi‑Fi 5 (802.11ac) with combined AC1200 performance and offers features such as Carrier Aggregation for higher 4G+ download speeds, MU‑MIMO for improved multi-device efficiency, and compatibility with TP‑Link OneMesh for seamless whole‑home roaming.
Archer MR500 delivers stable 4G+ broadband up to 300 Mbps download via carrier aggregation and shares a dual‑band AC1200 Wi‑Fi network with speeds up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. Beamforming, Power Amplifier and Low Noise Amplifier extend and strengthen wireless coverage. MU‑MIMO reduces contention for multiple simultaneous devices, while full Gigabit Ethernet ports and a WAN port provide fast wired connections and compatibility with cable, fiber or DSL modems. Easy setup and management are available through the web interface or the Tether app.
Insert a Nano SIM into the MR500’s SIM slot and power on the router. Connect devices via Wi‑Fi (choose 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz SSID) or use a Gigabit Ethernet cable for wired devices. Access the web management interface or the TP‑Link Tether app on an Android or iOS device to complete initial setup, configure network name and password, and set up connection mode. If used with a fixed‑line modem, connect the modem to the WAN port; when set to router mode, the 3G/4G connection can act as a backup internet source.
Place the Archer MR500 centrally in the area to maximize Wi‑Fi coverage and orient the external antennas for optimal signal. Use the 5 GHz band for bandwidth‑intensive tasks (HD streaming, gaming) and the 2.4 GHz band for longer range and legacy devices. Keep firmware updated via the web interface or Tether app and enable WPA2 encryption for secure access.
