Setup and ongoing management are handled through the Deco mobile app, and the system supports voice control via Amazon Alexa. Unbox the Deco units and connect the first Deco to your cable modem, then power on both devices. Download and launch the Deco app on an Android or iOS device and follow the on‑screen setup instructions. After the primary Deco is configured, power on the second Deco and it will automatically join the mesh network. Use the Deco app to view connected devices, set up a guest network, prioritize devices, and adjust security settings within TP‑Link HomeCare.

Usage recommendations

Place Deco units centrally in each coverage area and away from large metal objects or other electronics to maximize mesh performance. For best results, position one Deco near your modem and distribute additional units on different floors or distant rooms to eliminate dead zones.
