The TP-Link TL-MR3020 is a compact travel router that lets you share an internet connection while on the move. It supports 3G USB modems and can also operate as a travel router using a hotel WAN cable. The device features Fast Ethernet LAN (10/100 Mbit/s) and Wi‑Fi standards 802.11b/g/n, with security support for WEP, WPA and WPA2. Power is supplied via a mini USB port that can be connected to a laptop or USB power adapter.
Small, lightweight design makes the TL-MR3020 easy to carry for business trips or vacations. Multiple operating modes (3G Router, Travel Router/AP and WISP Client Router) provide flexibility in how you connect to the internet. Fast Ethernet and 802.11b/g/n wireless ensure compatibility with a wide range of devices, and standard security protocols help protect your connection. The mini USB power interface allows convenient powering from laptops or common USB adapters.
Choose the appropriate mode using the side switch: set to 3G Router Mode to share an internet connection from a compatible 3G USB modem, to Travel Router (AP) Mode to convert a hotel WAN cable into a wireless network, or to WISP Client Router Mode for wireless ISP connections. Connect the TL-MR3020 to a power source via the mini USB port, connect your Ethernet cable or plug in the USB modem as required, and use the web management interface to configure Wi‑Fi SSID, password and security settings.
Use a compatible 3G USB modem listed in TP‑Link’s support resources and secure the wireless network with WPA2. For stable operation, power the router from a reliable USB adapter or laptop USB port and avoid exposing the device to prolonged heat or moisture.
