Carbon Rod TPC GPX/WP0015 — 1.5 mm diameter
Carbon Rod TPC GPX/WP0015 — 1.5 mm diameter is a slim carbon fiber rod produced by TPC for structural and hobby applications. The rod offers a combination of low weight and high stiffness, making it suitable as a reinforcement element in model making, prototypes, UAV frames and precision assemblies. With a 1.5 mm nominal diameter, the rod is intended for uses that require a thin, rigid component to provide bracing, spars or local strengthening.
The carbon fiber construction delivers a high stiffness-to-weight ratio and good dimensional stability. Because the rod is thin (1.5 mm diameter), it is easy to route through small openings and to integrate into confined assemblies while still providing notable bending resistance. The product is corrosion-resistant and non-magnetic, which supports use in environments where metal rods would be unsuitable. Its smooth surface and constant diameter simplify bonding, sleeving or fitting into press-fit connectors.
Measure and cut the carbon rod to the required length using a suitable cutter or diamond wheel; support the rod close to the cut to avoid splintering. For joining or securing, use epoxy adhesives formulated for composites or mechanical fasteners sized for the 1.5 mm diameter. When inserting the rod into tubing or sleeves, verify internal clearances and, if necessary, sand lightly to obtain a precise fit. For load-bearing applications, distribute loads across multiple rods or add local reinforcement to minimize point stresses.
Handle cut ends with care to avoid splinters; wear eye protection and a dust mask when cutting or sanding. Store the rod in a dry, stable environment away from prolonged UV exposure if surface finish preservation is required. For critical structural use, validate the rod performance in the intended assembly and follow composite bonding best practices.
