TRENDnet TEG-10GECTX is a 10 Gigabit PCI Express network adapter that converts an available PCIe slot into a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port. The adapter supports multiple link speeds, jumbo frames up to 16 KB, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, and is compatible with Windows, Windows Server and Linux operating systems. Included standard and low-profile brackets allow installation in most systems, while LED indicators show port status, link speed and activity.

Advantages

The TEG-10GECTX supports five selectable speeds (10 Gbps, 5 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps and 100 Mbps), enabling backward compatibility with existing network cabling and equipment. NBASE-T technology allows 2.5 and 5 Gbps operation over Cat 5e cable up to 100 m, reducing the need for re-cabling. Jumbo frame support improves throughput for large-packet transfers. The card includes both standard and low-profile brackets for flexible installation and features LEDs for easy diagnostics.

How to use

Power off the computer and insert the TEG-10GECTX into an available PCIe 2.0 x4 (or larger) slot. Secure the card with the appropriate bracket (standard or low-profile) and restore power. Install drivers for your operating system if required, then connect a compatible Ethernet cable. Configure link speed, jumbo frame size and VLAN settings in the operating system or network management software as needed.

Recommendations

For optimal performance at 2.5 Gbps or 5 Gbps, use Cat 5e or better cable and keep cable runs within 100 meters.
