The Ubiquiti UniFi HD In-Wall (UAP-IW-HD) is a dual-band access point designed for high-density environments, delivering combined 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless connectivity with a maximum data rate of 1733 Mbit/s. It installs into a wall plate cutout and offers five Ethernet ports (one with PoE passthrough when powered by an 802.3at PoE+ switch), integrated Gigabit switching, and support for common security and networking standards, including WPA2, IEEE 802.3af/at and IEEE 802.11ac.

How to use

Install the UniFi IW HD into a compatible wall box using the supplied mounting hardware. Connect an 802.3af or 802.3at PoE switch to the main Ethernet port to power the AP; when powered by an 802.3at PoE+ switch, one LAN port can provide PoE passthrough to downstream devices. Adopt and configure the AP using the UniFi Controller software to set SSIDs, security (for example WPA2), VLANs and guest controls, and to map and manage network traffic.

Usage recommendations

For optimal performance in high-density deployments, power the device with an 802.3at-compliant PoE+ switch and manage multiple APs centrally via the UniFi Controller. Use optional skins if a discreet visual fit is required.
