Socket 1/2" 6-point 25 mm Unior model U600866
Unior 1/2" 6-point socket, 25 mm (model U600866) is a hand tool intended for precise engagement with hexagonal nuts and bolts. Made by Unior, this 6-point socket fits 25 mm fasteners and is designed to be used with 1/2" drive ratchets, extensions or breakers. The tool aims to provide a tight contact surface to reduce rounding of fastener corners and to transfer torque efficiently during workshop, automotive or industrial maintenance operations.
The 6-point internal profile offers maximum surface contact with hex heads to minimize slippage and rounding. A 1/2" drive interface ensures compatibility with a wide range of ratchets and torque tools commonly used in professional and hobbyist settings. The 25 mm size covers medium-to-large fasteners frequently encountered on engines, machinery and structural assemblies. The socket’s geometry and manufacturing precision improve torque transfer and tool life when used within recommended torque limits.
This 6-point 25 mm socket is not intended for use with impact tools unless explicitly marked for impact use; it is designed for hand-operated ratchets and torque wrenches with a 1/2" drive. It may not be the best choice for rounded or severely damaged fasteners where specialized extractor sockets or 12-point profiles could perform better.
Select a compatible 1/2" drive ratchet, breaker bar or torque wrench and push the socket onto the square drive until it locks or seats securely. Place the 6-point socket fully over the hex fastener so all contact faces engage. Apply steady torque in the appropriate direction for loosening or tightening, avoiding sudden impacts or excessive force beyond the socket’s intended hand-tool limits. When using a torque wrench, follow the specified torque values for the fastener to prevent over-tightening.
Use the socket with a properly rated 1/2" hand ratchet or torque wrench for best results, keep contact faces clean and free of debris, and store in a socket rail or case to prevent damage. For seized or corroded fasteners, apply penetrating lubricant and use gradual force rather than sudden impacts to avoid tool or fastener damage.
