Laser rangefinder Unit LM50A — 50 m measuring distance, compact design
UNI-T LM50A laser rangefinder is a compact measuring tool for construction, interior design, engineering and technical supervision. It measures distances up to 50 m with a high resolution of 0.001 m and an accuracy specified as ±(2 mm + 0.00005 × D). The device features a 2.0-inch backlit LCD, built-in horizontal and vertical spirit levels, memory for 99 measurement groups and is powered by two AAA batteries. A protective transport case and user manual are included.
The LM50A combines a long measurement range with fine resolution and combined measurement functions: single and continuous measurement, area and volume calculation, indirect distance measurement using the Pythagoras function, and simple addition/subtraction of results. Its ergonomic housing and lightweight construction allow comfortable one-handed use, while the integrated spirit levels and selectable measurement reference point (front or back) improve alignment and accuracy. Backlit display and memory for previous results enhance usability in varied conditions.
Switch on the LM50A and select required measurement units (m/ft/in) and reference point (front or back). Aim the laser at the target and press the measurement button for a single reading or hold for continuous measurement. Use the Pythagoras function to obtain indirect heights by taking the required two or three distance readings as described in the user manual. For area and volume calculations, measure the required edges sequentially and the instrument will compute the result. Consult the display and the stored memory (99 groups) to review recent measurements. Replace the two AAA batteries when low power is indicated and store the device in the supplied transport case when not in use.
For best accuracy, ensure the target surface reflects the laser beam well, keep the device steady when measuring, and avoid direct sunlight on the measurement point. Use the built-in levels for correct alignment and follow the operating temperature range 0°C–40°C. Read the included user manual for safety, laser class information and detailed measurement procedures.
