Uni-T UT216A Digital Clamp Meter
The Uni-T UT216A digital clamp meter is a professional-grade instrument engineered for precise electrical measurements in both residential and industrial environments. Its robust construction and reliable performance make it an essential tool for electricians and technicians who require accurate data for troubleshooting, maintenance, and diagnostics of electrical systems.
This device offers high-precision measurement capabilities, including True RMS, which ensures accurate readings even in non-sinusoidal electrical circuits. The ergonomic design features a 30 mm jaw opening, allowing for easy access to conductors in tight spaces. With integrated features like a display backlight and a built-in flashlight, the meter is highly effective for work in dimly lit areas. Furthermore, the inclusion of NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) detection enhances safety by allowing users to identify live wires without direct contact, while the Relative mode and MAX/MIN functions provide advanced analytical capabilities for monitoring parameter fluctuations.
The UT216A is not designed for measuring extremely high currents exceeding 600A or for specialized high-voltage industrial power distribution systems beyond its rated specifications. It is also not intended for use in environments with explosive gases or extreme moisture conditions.
To begin, insert the provided batteries into the device. Select the desired measurement function using the rotary dial. For current measurements, open the clamp jaws and enclose a single conductor. For voltage or resistance, connect the test leads to the appropriate input terminals and touch the probes to the circuit points. Use the Data Hold button to freeze the reading on the display if necessary, and utilize the Relative mode to compare measurements against a reference value.
Usage recommendations: Always inspect the test leads for any signs of damage before use. Ensure the device is set to the correct measurement mode before making contact with live circuits to prevent damage to the meter. Store the device in the provided carrying case when not in use to protect the sensor and display.
