Water filter element USTM PPHOT 10" 5 µm — sediment replacement cartridge
USTM PPHOT 10" 5 µm is a sediment filter element made from polypropylene yarn with a graded-density structure achieved by a specific winding method. The cartridge captures mechanical impurities such as rust and sand, retaining particles down to 5 microns, and is designed for hot water filtration up to +80°C. It fits standard 10" housings and serves as a sediment replacement cartridge for point-of-use and whole-house prefiltration.
The polypropylene yarn element provides a gradient density that increases deeper into the cartridge, reducing micro-pressure and improving filtration efficiency. The cartridge offers reliable retention of mechanical contaminants, compatibility with standard 10" housings, and operation at temperatures up to +80°C. Typical service life is up to 14,000 liters or 6 months with a maximum recommended flow rate of 25 l/min.
Install the cartridge into a compatible 10" filter housing according to the housing manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure inlet/outlet seals are correctly seated and tighten the housing to prevent leaks. Replace the cartridge after reaching the service life limit (14,000 L or 6 months) or sooner if flow rate or water quality declines. Observe safety precautions when working with hot water to avoid scalding.
For best results, pair this sediment cartridge with a downstream activated carbon or specialty filter for chemical and taste removal. Check pressure and flow regularly and replace the cartridge earlier in applications with high sediment load.
