Drill Chuck Verto 1/2" keyed, model 66H112
Drill Chuck Verto 1/2" keyed, model 66H112 is a keyed three-jaw chuck with a 1/2" (12.7 mm) shank designed to securely clamp round and hexagonal drill bits. Intended for use with manual and stationary drills, this chuck provides positive mechanical engagement via a tightening key, ensuring stable bit retention during drilling operations in metalworking, woodworking and general construction tasks.
The keyed design allows high clamping force and precise grip on a wide range of bit diameters, reducing slippage under load. Its 1/2" shank provides compatibility with many hand-held and bench drilling machines. The three-jaw mechanism centers bits automatically for improved concentricity, and the durable construction ensures consistent performance in repetitive drilling applications.
Fit the chuck onto the drill spindle or into the appropriate collet receptacle on the machine, ensuring the shank seats fully. Open the jaws by turning the key counterclockwise, insert the drill bit so it is centered and extends to the required depth, then tighten the jaws using the key by turning it clockwise. Verify the bit is securely clamped and runs true before starting the drill. Regularly inspect jaw alignment and clean the chuck of debris to maintain reliable operation.
Use the correct size chuck key and avoid overtightening beyond the bit manufacturer’s recommendations. For prolonged life, keep the chuck free of chips and apply light machine oil to moving parts periodically. Select a chuck with a 1/2" shank when compatibility with common drill spindles or adaptors is required.
