Smoke Detector Virone SD-3 — ceiling/wall optical smoke alarm SD-3
Smoke Detector Virone SD-3 — ceiling/wall optical smoke alarm SD-3
Virone SD-3 is an optical smoke detector designed for early detection of smoke in residential and commercial environments. The device uses an optical sensing chamber to detect visible combustion particles and issues an audible alarm when smoke concentration exceeds the device threshold. Designed for flexible installation on ceilings or walls, the SD-3 supports monitoring of rooms, corridors and shared spaces and can be used as part of basic alarm systems.
The optical sensing principle provides reliable detection of visible smoke from smouldering fires and open flames. Its compact form factor and compatibility with ceiling or wall mounting enable placement where it is most effective for smoke collection. The detector is intended for straightforward integration into simple alarm setups and offers continuous, autonomous monitoring without complex configuration.
Install the Virone SD-3 on a ceiling or high on a wall in the centre of the protected area or in accordance with local fire safety regulations. Position the detector away from drafts, air-conditioning outlets and cooking appliances that could cause false alarms. Follow the manufacturer or installer instructions for wiring and mounting, and verify the alarm operation after installation. Regularly test the detector using the built-in test function or as specified by the installer to confirm proper operation.
Test the detector monthly and replace power sources or batteries according to the installer’s schedule. Keep the sensing chamber free from dust and paint; clean with a soft brush or vacuum around vents if allowed by the manufacturer. Do not paint the unit or obstruct the sensing openings. For full protection, install detectors in all sleeping areas, outside sleeping zones and on every level of the building following applicable local codes.
