VFD customer display VIRTUOS FV-2030B 2x20 9mm USB black

VIRTUOS FV-2030B is a vacuum-fluorescent (VFD) customer display designed for point-of-sale systems and terminals. It shows 2 rows of 20 characters with 9.2 mm character height, uses a green VFD for high-contrast readability and is powered directly from a USB port (5 V) without the need for an external power supply. The compact black housing and adjustable stand with two extension tubes allow three height configurations and variable tilt for flexible installation in different checkout environments.

Advantages

How to use

Connect the display to the host POS terminal using the supplied 1.7 m USB-A cable; the unit draws power directly from the USB port. Install drivers from the included CD or download the latest drivers for the Prolific PL2303 chipset if required. Configure the display using ESC command sequences or standard emulations (Aedex, Epson, DSP800, Firich CD5220); the device provides 10 command-set emulations including OPOS/JPOS drivers. Use the adjustable stand and extension tubes to set the preferred height and tilt before securing the base with the supplied adhesive feet or mechanical fasteners if needed.

Usage recommendations

The display is intended for indoor POS environments; avoid exposure to moisture and extreme temperatures. For best readability set brightness according to ambient lighting (500–1000 cd/m²). When integrating with custom software, test the selected command emulation and character set (including Czech Latin II) to ensure correct presentation of diacritics and custom characters.
