VIRTUOS FV-2030W is a vacuum fluorescent (VFD) customer display with a 2x20 character layout and 9.2 mm character height, designed for point-of-sale systems and terminals. The unit is powered directly from a USB port (5 V) without the need for an external power supply and supports multiple connection options on request such as RS-232, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi or Ethernet. The display provides adjustable tilt and height, editable welcome message, and a range of command emulations for integration with common POS software.

Advantages

How to use

Connect the display to the host system using the supplied 1.7 m USB-A cable; the display will draw 5 V directly from the USB port. Install the provided drivers from the included CD or download updated drivers if required; the Prolific PL2303 virtual COM driver enables serial emulation over USB. Configure the welcome message and timeout/idle mode (1–45 minutes) via ESC command sequences or using POS software that supports one of the device emulations. Adjust height and tilt using the extension tubes and the base to suit your counter setup, and secure the base or rear with screws if a fixed installation is required.

Usage recommendations

The display is intended for indoor POS use; ensure a stable USB power source and avoid exposure to strong magnetic fields or liquids. For reliable integration, use the driver matching your OS and test command emulation with your POS system (Aedex, Epson, DSP800, Firich CD5220 compatible). Regularly back up any custom character definitions if reprogramming is required.
