Mitre box VOREL 29317
The VOREL 29317 mitre box is a compact cutting guide designed to support accurate crosscuts and angled cuts in wood, plastic and other similar materials. With overall dimensions of 233 mm width, 53 mm depth and 56 mm height, the tool offers a small footprint while providing stable positioning for a hand saw. Supplied as a single pack, the mitre box is suitable for both home DIY tasks and light professional work where controlled, repeatable angled cuts are required.
The mitre box features a rigid body that keeps the saw aligned while cutting, helping to produce straight edges and consistent angles. Its compact dimensions make it easy to clamp or hold in place and convenient to store in a toolkit. The simple design requires no power source and allows quick setup for standard angle cuts. The open top and accessible sides provide good visibility and allow sawdust to clear away during use.
Place the workpiece into the mitre box channel so that its edge rests against the back wall, align the piece to the desired angled slot (typically 45° or 90°), and secure it by hand or with a clamp if required. Insert the hand saw into the selected angle guide and perform steady forward and backward strokes while keeping even pressure. Check the fit of the cut and adjust the position for repeat cuts as needed. Ensure the saw blade is suitable for the material and in good condition to achieve clean cuts.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves. For best results, clamp the mitre box to a workbench when cutting thicker or longer pieces. Select a fine-tooth saw for clean finishes on trim and moldings, and a coarser blade for faster removal of material in rough cuts.
