File/Rasp Vorel 25310 — hand file and rasp tool, single-piece 25310
Vorel 25310 is a single-piece hand file and rasp designed for shaping, smoothing and removing material from wood, metal, plaster and plastic surfaces. The tool combines a coarse cutting surface for fast material removal with a finer face for finishing passes. With a working length of 250 mm and a width of 40 mm, this rasp is a compact workshop tool intended for general carpentry, metalworking, model making and repair tasks. The body and grater are made of high-quality steel and the plastic main handle provides a secure grip for one- or two-handed operation depending on the task.
The Vorel 25310 offers a robust one-piece construction that reduces play between handle and blade and simplifies handling. Its specially shaped holes and profiled cavities in the working surface minimise clogging when working with plaster and other difficult materials. The rasp's combination of aggressive cutting teeth and a finer side lets you remove material quickly and then refine the surface without changing tools. The plastic main handle supports controlled pressure and comfortable hold during extended use.
Hold the Vorel 25310 by the plastic handle with one or both hands depending on leverage required. Position the rasp against the workpiece and apply steady, even strokes in the direction of cut; use the coarse side for rapid material removal and switch to the finer side to refine the profile and smooth the surface. For plasterboard and gypsum-based materials, maintain consistent pressure and avoid overturning the tool to prevent gouging. When working metal or harder materials, use controlled, moderate passes to preserve the rasp's teeth and to achieve the desired shape.
To extend tool life, clean the working surface regularly to prevent build-up in the profiling holes; a wire brush or file cleaner clears clogged teeth effectively. Store the rasp dry and avoid impacts to the cutting surface. Replace the grater if worn to restore cutting performance.
