Hand saw Vorel 28385 — 400 mm blade, 1 pc
The Vorel 28385 hand saw features a 400 mm blade designed for manual cutting of wood and similar soft materials. Supplied as a single unit, this classic handsaw is intended for carpentry, trimming and general DIY tasks where a compact, controllable tool is required. The saw’s blade and handle are configured to provide efficient straight cuts for small to medium jobs at home or on site.
The blade is made of manganese steel with a specified 65 MN characteristic and is finished with a PTFE layer that reduces friction during cutting. Teeth are sharpened in three planes to enable an aggressive cut in both push and pull directions, and the working part has a hardness in the range of 50–54 HRC for wear resistance. An ergonomic handle constructed from ABS and TPR plastics ensures a secure grip and comfortable control during prolonged use. The saw’s 7 TPI tooth spacing balances cutting speed and finish quality for typical woodworking tasks.
Secure the workpiece before cutting to prevent movement. Hold the ergonomic handle and start with a light forward stroke to establish a cutting groove, then apply steady, even strokes using the full length of the blade for straight cuts. Use controlled pressure—let the saw’s tooth geometry and PTFE coated blade reduce friction rather than forcing the cut. For finer finish, reduce stroke speed near the end of the cut to avoid splintering.
Keep the blade clean and dry after use and store the saw in a dry place to preserve the PTFE coating and blade hardness. Use protective gloves and eye protection when cutting. For best results on thicker or harder timbers, pair the saw with appropriate marking and clamping tools and maintain a steady sawing rhythm.
