Bar clamp Vorel 37430 — iron and wood construction, 300 mm length
Vorel 37430 is a 300 mm bar clamp designed for securing workpieces during woodworking and light metalwork. Constructed from iron with wooden contact faces, it provides stable clamping pressure for gluing, assembly and holding parts in place. Supplied as a single piece per pack, this clamp is suitable for DIY and workshop tasks that require moderate clamping force and reliable positioning of components.
The clamp combines a cast iron jaw construction with a stable tinned steel rail and a pressure screw that includes a swinging pressure plate, ensuring even pressure distribution on the workpiece. A lacquered wooden handle reinforced with a metal tap allows effective tightening during assembly, processing and gluing. The design offers durability for repeated workshop use while the wooden contact faces reduce the risk of surface damage to timber and finished parts.
Position the fixed jaw and slide the movable jaw along the rail to fit the width of the workpiece. Place the wooden contact faces against the surfaces to be clamped to minimise marking. Turn the lacquered wooden handle to advance the pressure screw until the swinging pressure plate contacts the workpiece and the desired clamping pressure is achieved. Avoid overtightening; stop when the parts are held firmly and evenly. To release, rotate the handle in the opposite direction and slide the movable jaw away.
For best results when gluing or assembling, use multiple clamps spaced evenly along the workpiece to ensure uniform pressure. Inspect the wooden contact faces periodically and replace or pad them if they become worn to maintain surface protection. Store the clamp in a dry place to reduce corrosion on the metal rail and screw.
