Network tool kit W-STAR WS5008 — 10-piece set with RJ45 tester, punchdown tool and RJ45/RJ11 crimping pliers
W-STAR WS5008 is a 10-piece network tool kit designed for installation, testing and maintenance of copper Ethernet and telephone cabling. The set brings together essential hand tools for structured cabling work: an RJ45 cable tester for verifying continuity and wiring pairs, a punchdown tool suitable for keystone jacks and patch panels, and crimping pliers compatible with both RJ45 and RJ11 connectors. The kit is supplied in a compact case for organized transport and storage.
The kit combines testing, termination and punchdown tools in a single package, reducing the need to carry multiple separate items. The RJ45 cable tester provides quick verification of cable continuity and pair mapping to identify open, short or crossed pairs. The punchdown tool delivers consistent terminations in keystone jack blocks and patch panels, while the crimping pliers accommodate both 8P8C (RJ45) and 6P4C/6P2C (RJ11) modular plugs for Ethernet and telephone cabling. Ergonomic handles and a compact carrying case help maintain tool order and portability.
Use the RJ45 cable tester to verify cable continuity and pair order before and after installation: connect one end to the main unit and the other end to the remote unit, power on the tester and observe the LED sequence to confirm correct wiring or detect faults. For keystone jacks and patch panel terminations, insert conductors into the appropriate slots and use the punchdown tool to seat and trim wires cleanly. For modular plug terminations, strip the cable jacket to the recommended length, arrange conductors in the correct wiring order, insert into the RJ45 or RJ11 plug and apply the crimping pliers to compress the plug and secure the contacts. Store all items in the carrying case when not in use.
Perform cable tests with the cable tester both before final installation and after termination to ensure proper connectivity. When punching down or crimping, follow standard wiring schemes (T568A or T568B for Ethernet) and avoid excessive force that could damage connectors or conductors. Keep tools clean and store them in the case to prolong lifespan.
