Circular Polarizer Filter Walimex pro Pol Zirkular Slim Super DMC 52mm

The Circular Polarizer Filter Walimex pro Pol Zirkular Slim Super DMC 52mm is a slim, screw-on polarizing filter designed to reduce reflections, increase color saturation and improve contrast for outdoor and studio photography. Its low-profile construction is intended to minimize vignetting on wide-angle lenses while providing the polarizing effect needed to darken skies, increase separation between subject and background and cut through surface glare on water, glass and foliage. The filter fits lenses with a 52mm filter thread and is suitable for landscape, architecture and product photography where control of reflections and improved color rendition are required.

Advantages

The slim frame reduces the chance of vignetting on wide-angle lenses while maintaining a secure fit on the lens thread. Polarizing optics improve color saturation and contrast without altering exposure significantly. The filter surface includes a multicoating to reduce internal reflections and increase light transmission for clearer images. The screw-in design provides a stable connection and allows stacking of thin filters where necessary.

Suitable for

• Landscape photography to enhance sky contrast and color saturation
• Outdoor portrait and environmental photography to reduce specular reflections
• Product and still-life photography to control glare on shiny surfaces
• Architectural photography to minimize window and facade reflections
• Travel and street photography when subtle polarization is required without added bulk

Key specifications

• Filter type: circular polarizer
• Mount: screw-in, fits 52mm filter thread
• Frame: slim/low-profile to reduce vignetting on wide-angle lenses
• Optical treatment: multi-coated surfaces to reduce reflections and improve transmission
• Function: reduces specular reflections, increases color saturation and contrast

How to use

Screw the filter onto the lens front thread until it is secure but not overtightened. Rotate the outer ring while observing through the viewfinder or live view to adjust the degree of polarization; the effect is strongest at approximately 90 degrees to the sun. Use manual or auto exposure as usual; in some situations the polarizer may reduce light by about one to two stops, so adjust exposure settings accordingly. If using a wide-angle lens, the slim frame helps reduce vignetting—check the frame corners and, if stacking multiple filters, verify there is no mechanical obstruction.

Store the filter in a protective case when not in use, clean with a soft microfiber cloth and appropriate lens cleaner, and avoid over-tightening on the lens thread to prevent damage. For consistent color balance, review white balance settings after applying the polarizer, especially in mixed lighting conditions.
