The WELL RTX8830 is an IP DECT rugged handset designed for use with the WELL RTX8660 base station. Built for demanding work environments, the handset features IP65 protection, a 2" LCD screen and eight programmable keys to simplify access to contacts and functions. It supports Bluetooth connectivity, ambient noise reduction and safety features such as man-down and pull-cord support. The device operates within a DECT cellular system that enables roaming and handover between base stations and can be integrated into existing PBX environments.

How to use

Register the RTX8830 handset to a WELL RTX8660 base within the RTX cellular system following the base station pairing procedure. Use the eight programmable keys to assign frequently used numbers or functions. Make and receive calls over the DECT network; the handset will automatically switch to a base station with a stronger signal during movement, allowing uninterrupted calls. Configure central phonebook access through LDAP, XML or Broadsoft if required, and pair Bluetooth devices for hands-free use.

Usage recommendations

For reliable operation in industrial settings, mount base stations to provide overlapping DECT coverage and add repeaters where required. Use PoE-enabled network switches for simpler installation, and keep firmware up to date to ensure compatibility and security.
