Socket Wera 8790 HMA Drive size 1/4" Metric
The Wera 8790 HMA 1/4" drive socket is a metric hand and machine socket made to ISO 2725‑3. It fits external hexagonal bolts and nuts and is suitable for both manual and non‑impact machine operation. The socket has a ball intercept ring for secure mounting and a Take it easy tool finder with colour coding by size for quick identification. Its hexagon profile permits high torque transmission while reducing stress on bolt edges; the compact design and fine‑toothed ratchet compatibility make it useful in confined spaces.
The socket combines hand and machine use capability with a ball intercept ring that ensures a firm retention on the square drive. Colour coding by size simplifies tool selection. The hexagon profile provides reliable contact with fasteners and lowers edge wear compared with double‑hex profiles. Its length (50 mm) and 1.18 cm diameter offer a balance of reach and access in restricted areas. Manufactured to ISO 2725‑3, it meets standard dimensional and fit requirements.
Select the socket size using the Take it easy colour coding, push it onto the 1/4" square drive until the ball intercept ring locks the socket in place, and engage the socket on the hexagonal fastener. Use with hand tools or non‑impact power tools as required, applying torque within the tool and fastener ratings. For tight spaces, pair the socket with a fine‑toothed ratchet to benefit from a reduced return angle.
To prolong service life and ensure correct fit, keep the socket clean and free of debris, avoid using it with impact tools, and verify that applied torque does not exceed the fastener or tool specifications.
