Socket Wera 8790 HMA
The Wera 8790 HMA 1/4" drive socket is a long hand and machine socket (ISO 2725-3) with a ball intercept ring, designed for external hexagonal bolts and sockets. It is suitable for manual and machine (non-impact) operation, including work with low-lying screw heads and protruding threaded rods. The socket features Wera's Take it easy tool finder with colour coding by size and an easy-to-grip surface that performs well even with oily hands. The hexagon profile permits high torque transmission while reducing stress on bolt edges; combined with fine-toothed ratchets and a small return angle, it enables efficient use in confined spaces.
The socket's long design provides better access to recessed fasteners, while the ball intercept ring secures it on the drive. Colour coding simplifies size identification and speeds up tool selection. The hexagon profile and fine-toothed compatibility reduce wear on fastener edges and allow precise torque transfer. Its compact dimensions make it suitable for tight spaces without sacrificing strength.
Select the correctly colour-coded socket size and push it onto the 1/4" drive until the ball intercept ring engages. Fit the socket over the external hex fastener and apply steady torque using a manual or machine (non-impact) drive. For recessed or low-lying fasteners, use the extended length to reach the head while maintaining alignment. Avoid impact tools and excessive side loading to prevent damage.
Use with fine-toothed ratchets or suitable machine drivers (non-impact). Keep sockets clean and lightly lubricated where needed; store by size using the Take it easy colour coding to speed up selection.
