Socket Wera 8790 HMA
The Wera 8790 HMA is a 1/4" hand and machine socket (ISO 2725 part 3) with a ball intercept ring, designed for use on external hexagonal bolts and nuts. With a length of 50 mm and a compact width of 10.8 mm (approx. 1.18 cm diameter), this metric socket is suitable for manual and non-impact machine operation and offers reliable fit and durability. Made in Taiwan, it features Wera’s Take it easy colour coding for quick size identification and a fine-toothed ratchet compatibility that enables work in confined spaces.
The hexagon profile transmits high torque while reducing stress on bolt edges compared with double-hex profiles. The ball intercept ring secures the socket on the fastener or on the square drive, preventing accidental loss. Colour-coded Take it easy tool finder speeds up tool selection. The socket’s compact width and fine-toothed ratchet compatibility allow efficient operation in tight or low-lying screwdriving situations, and its shape is easy to grip even with oily hands.
Select the correctly colour-coded Wera 8790 HMA socket for the fastener size, push the socket onto the 1/4" square drive until the ball intercept ring clicks to secure it. Fit the socket onto the external hexagonal bolt or nut and tighten or loosen using a manual ratchet, spinner or a non-impact machine tool. For confined spaces, use a fine-toothed ratchet to take advantage of the socket’s small return angle. Remove the socket by depressing the ball ring and pulling the socket from the drive.
Use only for manual or non-impact machine operation; do not use with impact wrenches. Match the socket precisely to the bolt size to avoid rounding the fastener. Keep sockets clean and lubricated where needed, and store with the Take it easy colour coding visible for faster selection.
